Dominican negotiators of the contract for the exploitation of gold from sulfide of ¨Pueblo Viejo¨ never thought gold prices were to reach the levels where they are today.

For this reason the country would receive in the first seven years of operation of the mine only $ 32 million a year for exports worth 1,000 million.

This was recognized by the economist Iván Rodríguez, who helped negotiate the contract with Placer Dome which later was transferred to Barrick Gold. This recalls that when the contract was negotiated the price of gold was between 200 and 250 dollars the troy ounce, while higher prices were expected that gold reached up to US$ 450.

Today gold prices in spot and future market reached record levels, boosted by the sale of 200 tonnes of gold made by the International Monetary Fund.

Yesterday gold was quoted at US$ 1079.40 an ounce from US$ 1059.15 on Monday afternoon in New York. Earlier, the precious metal reached a record of US$ 1080.60.

Although it was for the Dominican negotiators certainly an unexpected dimension where the price levels of gold has reached, it is likely that for Placer Dome and Barrick Gold then was not surprised the behavior of the metal in international markets …..

SANTO DOMINGO – The President of the Special Commission of the Chamber of Deputies who studied the lease agreement between the Dominican State and the Canadian company Barrick Gold, defended the work of legislators in approval.

Ramon Cabrera explained that the contract guarantees an investment of 3 billion pesos (84 million dollar) and generate about 5 thousand jobs. The company will pay around 374 million dollar to heal environmental damage.

The contract of the mining rights to mine gold, silver, copper and zinc in Pueblo Viejo, Cotui, signed in 2002 between the Dominican Government and the Canadian company Placer Dome, is being amended by requirement of the mining company Barrick Gold, which in 2006 bought all rights to the Pleasure Dome.

According to Article 8 of the original agreement, Placer Dome will pay the state a tax in base of Net Profit Sharing (PUN) which varies between 5% and 25%, dependent on the selling price of gold, unless a production cost of $ 275 per ounce.

Barrick Gold Results Beat Analyst Estimates on Cost Containment

Oct. 29 (Bloomberg) — Barrick Gold Corp., the world’s largest gold producer, reported third-quarter results that beat most analysts’ estimates because of efforts to contain costs.

Profit excluding a $5.7 billion charge to eliminate fixed- price contracts and a one-time impairment expense was 54 cents a share, Toronto-based Barrick said today in a statement. That topped the 46-cent average estimate of 23 analysts surveyed by Bloomberg.

Gold futures in New York climbed 17 percent to $1,030.50 an ounce this year through yesterday, while the 16-company Philadelphia Stock Exchange Gold & Silver Index rose 25 percent. The precious metal, which reached a record $1,072 on Oct. 14, has risen for eight straight calendar years.

Barrick repeated its forecast for 2009 gold production of 7.2 million to 7.6 million ounces at total cash costs of $450 to $475 an ounce. The company expects gold output to rise to 7.7 million to 8.1 million ounces next year, helped by the scheduled start of new production at the Cortez Hills project in Nevada next year. Barrick produced 7.66 million ounces of gold last year at average total costs of $443 an ounce.

On Oct. 12, Barrick agreed to pay Xstrata Plc $465 million for a 70 percent stake in the El Morro copper and gold mining project in Chile.

Barrick started building its $3 billion Pascua-Lama mine project on the Chile-Argentina border after the two countries resolved a tax dispute. The mine is forecast to yield as much as 800,000 ounces of gold annually after it starts operations in 2012.

The gold miner began production at its Buzwagi mine in Tanzania in May. The Pueblo Viejo project in the Dominican Republic is scheduled to start production in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Some of us take the snorkeling equipment for to explore the colorful underwater world. After some more Margaritas we took off in direction Cayo Levantado, the Bacardi dream island.

Here await us a dream beach and a fine lunch in the beach restaurant. The sand there is so white and the turquoise waters crystal clear, its excellent for swimming and snorkeling. After lunch we have some time to swim or relax on the beach. Known for its fantastic beach where the bacardi commercial was filmed, this small island in the Samana Bay is the stuff of legends, apparently linked to bounty hunters and treasure.

Airplane crash-lands into Hudson River and all aboard reported safe

NEW YORK (CNN) — A US Airways plane with 155 people on board ditched into a chilly Hudson River on Thursday, apparently after striking at least one bird upon takeoff from New York’s LaGuardia Airport, according to officials and passengers.

Everyone on board was accounted for and alive, officials said. About 15 people were being treated at hospitals and others were being evaluated at triage centers.

Flight 1549, headed to Charlotte, North Carolina, was airborne less than three minutes, according to FAA spokeswoman Laura Brown.

The pilot radioed to air traffic controllers that he had experienced a bird strike and declared an emergency, a New Jersey State Police source said.

“I think a lot of people started praying and just collecting themselves,” said passenger Fred Berretta. “It was quite stunning.”

The plane departed from Rio de Janeiro-Galeao International Airport at 19:03 LT bound for Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. The last radio contact with the flight was at 01:33 UTC. The aircraft left CINDACTA III radar coverage at 01:48 UTC, flying normally at FL350. The aircraft reportedly went through a thunderstorm with strong turbulence at 02:00 UTC. At 02:14 UTC an automated message was received indicating a failure of the electrical system. Debris and several bodies have been discovered about 570 miles northeast of Natal, Brazil.

The plane carried 12 crew members and 216 passengers. The plane crashed in the Atlantic Ocean, killing all on board.

Another disaster in air: Yemeni plane crashes with 150 on board

At 30 Jun 2009 a Yemenia Air plane flying between Paris, Yemen and the Comoros islands in the Indian Ocean has crashed into the sea with more than 150 people missing.

In the latest disaster, Yemenia Air flight IY 626 had left on Monday, also from Charles De Gaulle Airport, for Sana’a in Yemen via Marseille. In Sana’a, passengers had changed plane and been joined by others for the rest of the flight to the Comoros by way of Djibouti.Witnesses at the airport in Moroni, Grand Comore’s capital, said they saw the plane coming into land but it veered away and turned as if to make a second approach. It then disappeared from radar screens.

“I saw the plane approach and then go away again,” said Houmed Msaidie, the Comoros’ former defence minister, who had gone to the airport to meet his mother-in-law. “I just could not understand it.”

A bruised teenage girl clung to the wreckage of a Yemeni plane for more than 13 hours before rescuers found her floating in the Indian Ocean, a French official said Wednesday.

Initial blame was put on bad weather, with air officials in the Comoros Islands reporting strong winds of 25 knots, gusting to 35 knots – 30-40mph.The islands’ government sent rescue speedboats to the point where the plane disappeared from air traffic control radar screens in the early hours of the morning. They and nearby fishermen found debris, bodies and personal items including handbags floating in the water.

They also came across the girl, who they said was “very tired”. Arfachad Salim, a rescue coordinator for the Comoros Red Crescent, said she had been taken ashore and was being treated in hospital in the Comoros’ capital Moroni.

A 14-year-old girl plucked alive from the waters of the Indian Ocean is thought to be the only survivor of the second plane disaster to hit France in a month. The girl was one of 153 people on board an Airbus 310 aircraft which ditched in the sea ten miles off the coast of the Comoros Islands after a botched initial attempt at landing.

The French authorities said 66 of those on board were French nationals, out of 142 passengers. The crew were a mixture of Yemenis, Filipinos and other nationalities.It is almost exactly a month since an Air France Airbus 330-200 crashed into the Atlantic Ocean while on a flight from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.

The disaster will renew the focus on Airbus’s safety record, while the revelation that the plane involved had been banned from European air space for two years prompted calls for EU standards to be set globally.

However, French and EU authorities confirmed that the plane, which had been flying since 1990, had been banned from European airspace because of a series of faults found in 2007.

As the new U.S. administration prepares to take office amid grave financial and international crises. The American prescription for a world financial order has generally been unchallenged. Now disillusionment with the United States’ management of it is widespread. Every country will seek to make itself independent, to the greatest possible degree, of the conditions that produced the collapse.

The economic world has been globalized.

The nadir of the existing international financial system coincides with simultaneous political crises around the globe. Never have so many transformations occurred at the same time in so many different parts of the world and been made globally accessible via instantaneous communication.

“The current crisis can be overcome only by developing a sense of common purpose. The alternative to a new international order is chaos.”

The financial and political crises are, in fact, closely related partly because, during the period of economic exuberance, a gap had opened up between the economic and the political organization of the world.

Not since the inauguration of President John F. Kennedy half a century ago has a new administration come into office with such a reservoir of expectations. It is unprecedented that all the principal actors on the world stage are avowing their desire to undertake the transformations imposed on them by the world crisis in collaboration with the United States.

The extraordinary impact of the president-elect on the imagination of humanity is an important element in shaping a new world order. The role of China in this new world order is equally crucial. A relationship that started on both sides as essentially a strategic design to constrain a common adversary has evolved over the decades into a pillar of the international system.

China made possible the American consumption splurge by buying American debt; America helped the modernization and reform of the Chinese economy by opening its markets to Chinese goods.

Each side of the Pacific needs the cooperation of the other in addressing the consequences of the financial crisis. Now that the global financial collapse has devastated Chinese export markets, China is emphasizing infrastructure development and domestic consumption.

America needs Chinese cooperation to address its current account imbalance and to prevent its exploding deficits from sparking a devastating inflation. What kind of global economic order arises will depend importantly on how China and America deal with each other over the next few years.

Plans for the demise of the free Internet

March 14, 2009 -“The Canadian’s” Mike Finch “North American Union (NAU) watch” reports that US and Canadian organizations want to end free flow Internet information. He cites an “net-neutrality activist group” discovery of “plans for the demise of the free Internet by 2010 in Canada,” and by 2012 globally.

Canada’s two largest ISPs, Bell Canada and TELUS, are behind a scheme to limit browsing, block out sites, and charge fees on most others as part of a 2012 “planned full (NAU) launching.” Web host I Power’s Reese Leysen called it “beyond censorship: it is killing the biggest (ever) ‘ecosystem’ of free expression and freedom of speech.” He cited big company inside sources providing information on “exclusivity deals between ISPs and big content providers (like TV studios and video game publishers) “to decide which sites will be in the standard package offered customers, leaving the rest of the Internet unreachable except for fees.”

Leysen called his source “100% reliable” and cited similar information from a Dylan Pattyn Time magazine article, based on Bell Canada and TELUS sources. Plans are for “only the top 100 – 200 sites making the cut in the initial subscription package,” likely to include major news outlets at the expense of smaller, alternative ones. “The Internet would become a playground for billion-dollar content providers,” like cable TV providers, unless efforts are made to stop it.

Leysen thinks US and global ISPs have similar plans that include free speech restrictions and privacy invasions. The stakes are high if he’s right. Yet the profit potential is huge and friendly governments may oblige. Also involved are “deceptive marketing and fear tactics” (like citing child pornography threats) to gain public approval for subscription services masquerading as online safety.

The time to stop it is now.

China blocked access to The New York Times

When computer users in cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou tried to connect on Friday to nytimes.com, they received a message that the site was not available, the newspaper said.

There was no access to the site from Beijing late on Saturday without the protection of a virtual private network (VPN).

A spokesman for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs defended government censorship efforts that block access to some foreign Web sites, saying they had broken Chinese laws by promoting the idea that “two Chinas” exist.

“I hope these Web sites will exercise self-discipline and not do anything that violates Chinese laws,” said Liu Jianchao, a ministry spokesman, according to a transcript (in Chinese) of a Tuesday press conference.

China regularly blocks sites it finds unsavory, particularly those related to Tibet or critical of the Communist Party.

Access to the Chinese-language versions of the BBC, Voice of America and Hong Kong media Ming Pao News and Asiaweek were blocked early this month, Asiaweek said.

China has the world’s greatest number of Internet users, allowing its citizens vastly increased access to information. The country has 162 million Internet users and at least 1.3 million websites, but free expression is closely watched by surveillance experts and material is scanned for political content, often with the help of big international service providers such as Yahoo! and Google.

In response, it has set up a team of personnel who police the Internet to remove sensitive content and posts, warn bloggers who cross the line and block access to certain sites. Their apparatus of Internet repression is considered more extensive and more advanced than in any other country in the world.

In fact, the regime not only blocks website content but also monitors who is using the Internet and what they are using it for. Amnesty International notes that China “has the largest recorded number of imprisoned journalists and cyber-dissidents in the world.” The “offenses” they are accused of include communicating with groups abroad, opposing the persecution of the Falun Gong, signing online petitions, and calling for reform and an end to corruption.

The Chinese government maintains an active interest in preventing users from viewing certain web content, both sexually explicit and non-sexually explicit. That it has managed to configure overlapping nationwide systems to effectively block such content from users who do not regularly seek to circumvent such blocking. Such blocking systems are becoming more refined even as they are likely more labor and technology intensive to maintain than cruder predecessors.

Internet censorship is control or suppression of the publishing or accessing of information on the Internet.

Certain countries censor access to information on the Web through DNS filtering. This is a process whereby politically challenging information is blocked by domain address. State censors also filter for politically or socially-unacceptable ideas in e-mail. And individual privacy rights and community gatherings are similarly regulated.

Most countries indulging in censorship claim to be protecting their citizens from pornographic contagion. But the underlying motive is to prevent challenging opinions from spreading and coalescing through the chokehold of state-sponsored control. This includes banning information that ranges from political opinion, religious witness, “foreign” news, academic and scholarly discovery, news of human rights abuses all the intellectual exchange that an autocratic leadership considers to be destabilizing.

“The Chinese model of an internet that allows economic growth but not free speech or privacy is growing in popularity, from a handful of countries five years ago to dozens of governments today who block sites and arrest bloggers.”

China blocked access to Google and demanded that computers sold in China come supplied with an Internet nanny filter

The order by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology was unprecedented in scope: All personal computers sold in the country as of July 1 would have to include government-sponsored Internet filtering software.

Known as Green Dam-Youth Escort, the software must be preinstalled on all personal computers sold in China by July 1. The government has said it will pay for the software for at least a year as part of its campaign against “unhealthy and vulgar” material on the Internet.

Human rights advocates and the ranks of China’s Internet users have been especially critical, saying Green Dam, promoted by the government as a tool allowing users to protect themselves or their children against pornography on the Web, is really a thinly concealed attempt by the government to expand censorship.

“Their goal is to limit the access of information, not just pornography,” said Li Fangping, a rights lawyer in Beijing who is challenging the government directive. “I feel like as a citizen, my right to know has been violated.”

Software engineers who have examined Green Dam in recent days say it is designed to do more than filter out adult content. Deep inside the program, they say, are data files with the sorts of search terms and key words the authorities use to block certain topics, including Falun Gong, the banned spiritual movement, and the 1989 crackdown on pro-democracy protesters in Tiananmen Square.

“To us, it shows that the government fears it is losing control over the flood of information on the Internet,” said Isaac Mao, a fellow at Harvard University’s Berkman Center for Internet and Society, who has studied Green Dam’s coding.

Green Dam can also be used to block politics, not just Playboy. Once you start censoring the Web, you restrict the ability to imagine and innovate. You are telling young Chinese that if they really want to explore, they need to go abroad.

The capriciousness of state-sanctioned censorship is wide-ranging.

In Mauritania – as in most countries – owners of cybercafes are required to supply government intelligence agents with copies of e-mail sent or received at their establishments.

Even less draconian governments, like Malaysia, have threatened Web-publishers, whose only crime is to publish frequent Web site updates. Timely and relevant information is seen as a threat.

South Korea’s national security law forbids South Koreans from any contact – including contact over the Internet – with their North Korean neighbors.

Turkey is blocking YouTube at the moment, Thailand and Vietman block sites like Youtube, online gaming and news or political sites. Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Oman also block access to sites and internet services.

Brasil Telecom, is blocking VoIP traffic using network management software called NarusInsight purchased from US-based Narus. Brasil Telecom chose the software so that they could regulate IP telephony within Brazil and stop revenue loss due to VoIP.

Internet censorship is spreading and becoming more sophisticated across the planet, even as users develop savvier ways around it. Thousands of controversial websites are blocked in each nation.

The Internet filtering regime in Saudi Arabia concentrates on a few specific areas: pornography, drugs, gambling, circumvention tools (sites that offer ways to access blocked sites) and religious topics.

Google’s page-translation service was blocked when it was discovered that it could be used as a proxy to access content by entering the blocked URL. The popular information technology blog boingboing.net is currently blocked because one entry from a few years ago offers information about how to surf the Internet anonymously.

Amnesty International has warned that the internet “could change beyond all recognition” unless action is taken against the erosion of online freedoms.

The warning comes ahead of a conference organized by Amnesty, where victims of repression will outline their plights.

The “virus of internet repression” has spread from a handful of countries to dozens of governments, said the group. Amnesty accused companies such as Google, Microsoft and Yahoo of being complicit in the problem.

Interception of e-mail and monitoring online content

Germany was an early pioneer in facilitating Internet access and is today one of the 20 most connected-up countries in the world. However, the authorities have taken steps to fight online racism and pornography that could threaten freedom of expression and message privacy.

Germany’s history means it is quick these days to censor websites preaching racial hatred. But though it is simple to ask ISPs to block access to local neo-Nazi sites, it is a more delicate matter to routinely filter such sites based abroad and this has caused heated debate.

After the 11 September attacks, an anti-terrorist law pushed through parliament by interior minister Otto Schily at the end of 2001. The Telecommunications Interception Order allows intelligence officials and police to access online activity stored in digital form, including details of services used by customers, e-mail exchanges, data enabling senders or users to be identified and the records of telecommunications firms.

Germany belongs to the US spy network Echelon

The media revealed in June 2001 that the government had allowed the country to become a link in the US Echelon electronic spy network. The Bavarian daily paper Merkur, citing a US military intelligence report, said the US base at Bad Aibling (Bavaria) housed one of Echelon’s biggest European electronic monitoring and interception centres, after the US base at Menwith Hill, in Britain. It enables the US to spy on e-mails sent from much of Europe, including all the former Soviet bloc countries.

They’ve got it taped

In the booming surveillance industry they spy on whom they wish, when they wish, protected by barriers of secrecy, fortified by billions of pounds worth of high, high technology. Duncan Campbell reports from the United States on the secret Anglo-American plan for a global electronic spy system for the 21st century capable of listening in to most of us most of the time.

A secret listening agreement, called UKUSA (UK-USA), assigns parts of the globe to each participating agency. GCHQ at Cheltenham is the co-ordinating centre for Europe, Africa and the Soviet Union (west of the Ural Mountains).

The NSA covers the rest of the Soviet Union and most of the Americas. Australia–where another station in the NSA listening network is located in the outback–co-ordinates the electronic monitoring of the South Pacific, and South East Asia.

With 15,000 staff and a budget of over £500 million a year the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) is by far the largest part of British intelligence. Successive UK governments have placed high value on its eavesdropping capabilities, whether against Russian military signals or the easier commercial and private civilian targets.

Both British and American domestic communications are also being targeted and intercepted by the ECHELON network, the US investigators have been told. The agencies are alleged to have collaborated not only on targeting and interception, but also on the monitoring of domestic UK communications.

Special teams from GCHQ Cheltenham have been flown in secretly in the last few years to a computer centre in Silicon Valley near San Francisco for training on the special computer systems that carry out both domestic and international interception.

Space is commonly thought of as being absolute emptiness or nothingness. However, if space were sheer nothingness, it would not exist, and nothing could be located in it or move through it. Logically, space must have some kind of structure and therefore consist of substance, and unless this substance is assigned impossible, abstract properties (such as absolute continuity and homogeneity), space must consist of infinite interpenetrating grades of energy-substance. What to us is ‘empty’ space is simply those regions of space containing no matter perceptible to our physical senses.

The sun and the moon bring life and death to all living creatures

What mystic influences may or may not be darting through space and affecting the issues of life upon our planet?

The ether is the way of ingress for vital force from the Sun and the field of agencies in nature which promote such vital activities as assimilation, growth, and propagation. The effect produced upon our etheric life by so small a cause as the evolution of thought in a single human brain affect us and the earth upon which we live. How strong should be the influence of affect produced by the sweep of the myriad blazing orbs that are rushing through the interstellar depths?

“There are times of epidemic in moral and physical affairs. At one time the spirit of religious controversy will erupt the most ferocious passions of which human nature is susceptible, provoking mutual persecution, bloodshed, and wars; at another, an epidemic of resistance to constituted authority will spread over half the world, rapid and simultaneous as the most virulent bodily disorder.”

But a ” curious coincidence” to our mind is that our scientists should put aside facts, striking enough to cause them to use such an expression when speaking of them, instead of setting to work to give us a philosophical explanation of the same.

In the presence of these striking phenomena science does not even attempt to conjecture as to their cause, and naturally, for she has not yet learned to look outside of this planet upon which we live, and its heavy atmosphere, for the hidden influences which are affecting us day by day, and even minute by minute.

Almost nothing is known of the laws of magnetism and their effects upon our bodies and minds.

For example the effects of an eclipse can be measured scientifically here on earth with changes in our electromagnetic filed. There is a measurable increase of surface tensions to all fluids during an eclipse, as well in all kind of biological life because the substance from which all forms of life exist consists mostly in water. These tensions effecting ourselves as our bodily fluids are more unreliable or unstable.

Even music is a combination and modulation of sounds, and sound is the effect produced by the vibration of an etheric body. Now, if the impulses communicated to our environment by the different planets may be comparable to the tones produced by the different notes of a musical instrument, it is not difficult to imagine that the Pythagorean ” music of the spheres” is something more than a mere fancy, and that certain planetary aspects may imply disturbances in the environment of our planet, and certain others rest and harmony. Certain kinds of music throw us into frenzy ; some exalt the soul to religious aspirations. There is no living creation which does not respond to certain vibrations of the atmosphere.

It is the same with colors ; some excite us, some smooth and please and others make us nervous. The man clothes herself in black to typify the despondency of a faith crushed under the sense of original sin; the bride robes herself in white ; red inflames the anger of certain animals, etc.

If humans, animals and plants are affected by vibrations acting upon a very minute scale, why may we not be influenced in the mass by vibrations acting upon a grand scale as the effect of combined stellar influences ?

The ancients fully realized the fact that the reciprocal relations between the planetary bodies is as perfect as those between the corpuscles of the blood, which float in a common fluid ; and that each one is affected by the combined influences of all the rest, as each in its turn affects each of the others. As the planets differ in size, distance, and activity, so differ in intensity their impulses upon the etheric astral light and the magnetic and other subtile forces radiated by them in certain aspects of the heavens.

The sun and the moon are powerful beings that bring life and death to all living creatures. They control when it is day or night, which season it is, and the weather. The moon controls ocean tides, influences the groundwater tables beneath our feet and the movement of fluids in plants. Even continental land masses are said to rise 2 to 3 feet in elevation with the passage of the moon. The full moon affects the behavior of humans, animals and plants.

In myth the Moon is a primary female archetype traveling the great round of Birth, Maturation, Death and Rebirth each month. This is a primal fundamental cycle of the universe of which every single living thing participates.

Humans do it, animals do it, plants do it and even love affairs, business ventures and economies do it. It is only our modern culture with its focus on youth and never ending productivity that attempts to deny this basic cycle of life.

Women especially are affected by the moon and their menstrual cycle is intimately linked to this celestial body. They are connected to the moon by their blood, their hormones and their souls.

If a woman is ovulating with the Full Moon, this mode of cycling gives a woman the best chance of physical fertility, great for trying to conceive children, as the full moon accentuates the time of Ovulation and when a woman bleeds with the full moon, this mode of cycling enhances inner expression, intuition and the development of the inner, spiritual life.

As women become more aware of the different phases and how they experience them, they find it much easier to recognize and use the phase they are at and will also experience a far greater acceptance of their bodies, their menstrual cycle and their feminine nature.

The moon moves through a complete cycle every 29 days.  The growing of plants is directly linked to the position of the moon in his cycle. The moment for to cut wood which will be used in construction (resistant) is in a different moon cycle like for to burn it in a oven (try, easy to burn).

The decreasing or waning phases are when the moon “shrinks” from the full moon down to the new moon (darkness). As the moon wanes during the 3rd and 4th quarters, this is a good time to prune plants, as the water table is diminishing and so less sap will flow out of the cut ends. The plants are said to orient themselves toward their roots, making this a favorable time for planting, transplanting and harvesting root crops in general. During the light (waxing) of the Moon, sap is thought to flow more strongly, filling plants with vitality and energy, favoring the planting and harvesting of crops that mature above ground.

The planet Mars is the brightest star in the sky and be as large as the full moon.  Mars will be 55.75 million kilometers from earth.

Will be as if the earth had two moons. The next time this event occurs, it is planned for the year 2287.

the Werewolf Myths

The legend of the Werewolf is one of the most ancient and wide spread. Stories of the Werewolf can be found as far back as history has been written. These myths can be found all over the world from China to Island and Brazil to Haiti. Ancient Greek mythology tells of Lycaon, a man transformed into a wolf after eating human flesh. While the specific attributes of werewolves vary across different cultures, the beast itself is generally the same: a part-man, part-wolf creature of the night who preys on humans.

Werewolves only appear during a full moon and a werewolf will revert back to its human form by sunrise.

The old traditions tell us that only with an arm made of  silver its possible to kill a werewolf, because Silver is identified with the moon and therefore is ideal to slay a creature transformed under the light of the full moon.

Werewolves originated in Northern and Middle Europe. Most times they lived their lives in small villages away from bustling towns or cities. Now they are all over Europe and North America (U.S, Canada,and Mexico), as well as Australia, New Zealand, and parts of Asia. As far as my knowledge goes, there have been no reports, or very very few reports as to weather there are Were’s in Africa and South America. ……….

History of the Gothic Subculture

After over 20 years, it continues to change, grow, mutate and adapt, making it one of the longest surviving youth subcultures in existence.

The date of origin is usually placed in 1979 when Bauhaus released the song “Bela Lugosi’s Dead.” The band originally intended the song to be tongue-in-cheek; however, many young fans latched onto this mysterious, eerie sound as inspiration for the budding gothic subculture. The first generation of the gothic movement emerged mostly in the UK in the late seventies and early eighties as a splinter from the punk movement. Punk music was breathing its last breath as this gloomy, introspective mutation gained momentum. Bands like The Damned, Bauhaus, and Siouxsie and the Banshees characterize the first generation. These bands were called Gothic later on, but most did not consider themselves Gothic at the time. There is a great deal of uncertainty about who coined the term “gothic” and how it got attached to this dark music.

First and second generation Goths look suspiciously upon the new generation, doubting their authenticity and disliking the exposure they give to a subculture which would prefer to remain underground. The new generation is not presently well received by their elders, but time may prove otherwise. It would be difficult to predict what the future holds for the Gothic movement.

Many people think gothics are fascinated by death, yet the opposite is true. In accepting the finality of death, gothics take more pleasure in life. Gothics enjoy life on a more conscious level than most of us.

The “battle” between the sexes is as old as the human race.

The myths of the Amazons are a significant part of human culture. The Amazon myth was embraced by Greece, and from there spread all over the world. They were the earliest symbols of a society’s fear of feminism.

Amazons were trained to use all weapons and especially in single combat. They were honorable, courageous, brave and represented rebellion against sexism. Their tales spread quickly and soon stories of the Amazons were everywhere, including Africa, Asia, Europe, South America – where the Amazon River was named after the female warriors.

Its not hard to figure out that men look kinda more groomed and pretty in today’s world than say 60 years ago. And though women are as beautiful as ever, they are stronger in literally every area of life than they were 60 years ago.

We already see more women than men attaining bachelor’s degrees. In 2005, nearly 59 percent of undergraduates were granted to women. By 2050, it is projected that the degree gap will grow drastically.

Are women become more assertive and growing due to social expectations or is this work of evolution?

Unregulated chemicals released into the environment

Various studies are indicating that unregulated chemicals released into the environment are causing males to take on feminine characteristics.

Thousands of chemicals released into the environment are interfering with animal and human endocrine systems. These chemicals, nicknamed “gender-benders,” are causing the males in many species to become feminized.

In British lowland rivers, 50 percent of male fish were found to be growing eggs in their testes. Hermaphrodite polar bears have also been born.

Since all vertebrates have similar sex hormone receptors, the feminization of other animals indicates a similar pattern in humans.

Endocrine disrupting chemicals are everywhere these days. You are exposed to them from a variety of sources, including countless common household products, toys, and personal care products.

The glands of your endocrine system and the hormones they release influence almost every cell, organ, and function of your body. It is instrumental in regulating mood, growth and development, tissue function, metabolism, as well as sexual function and reproductive processes.

Many studies now indicate these toxins may indeed be wreaking silent havoc within our male population. Male infertility is on the rise, and, about 250,000 fewer boys have been born in the last 30 years in the United States and Japan.

One study found that pregnant women who are exposed to phthalates gave birth more than one week earlier than women who were not exposed to them and, the more a pregnant woman is exposed to high levels of phthalates, the greater the risk her son will have smaller genitals and incomplete testicular descent, leading to impaired reproductive development. The chemical also appears to make the overall genital tracts of boys slightly more feminine.

It is believed that phthalates have these adverse effects because they reduce testosterone synthesis by interfering with an enzyme needed to produce the male hormone.

Resent researches have linked the chemical to thyroid problems in both women and men. They also alter other biological processes dependent on phthalates. A list of symptoms found included illnesses like testicular cancer,  genital deformations, low sperm counts, infertility, allergies, asthma, and contact dermatitis.

Exposure to phthalates can lead to incomplete testicular descent in fetuses. Phthalates are found in vinyl flooring, detergents, automotive plastics, soap, shampoo, deodorants, fragrances, hair spray, nail polish, plastic bags, food packaging, garden hoses, inflatable toys, blood-storage bags, and intravenous medical tubing.

Toxins and Fertility

We are inundated with toxins. These toxins are in our food, air, water, toiletries, and homes. Many of these toxins not only adversely affect human health, but these toxins can impair fertility with negative impact on delicate male & female reproductive systems, as well as on a developing fetus. Even low levels of exposure can result in health problems and to make matters worse, many of these toxins accumulate in our tissues over a lifetime.

The Pill or “The Modern Castration of Women” and their secondary effects

A woman’s health is put in danger due to the artificial unnatural hormones within the pill that are being pumped into her body day after day for years. Long term use of the pill will most likely increase the chance of a woman developing various conditions or illnesses such as mentioned above as well as depleting essential vitamins and nutrients from the body including the B vitamin group.

The pill only treats the symptoms instead of the actual problem, as well as causing side effects while the body still remains in an unhealthy state.

Some of the direct secondary effects caused by the pill are that 7% of women to become sterile, 60% have no desire for sex, Testosterone levels sink, cell regeneration is disturbed, loss of ego, loss of self confidence, Vitamin B gets flushed out of the system which leads to fructose intolerance, digestive problems and nausea, depression and mood changes, heavy and/or irregular menstruation, weight gain on hips and thigh, increasing blood pressure, headaches and migraines, increased growth of cysts in chest and ovaries and thyroid disturbance.

But these primary effects are nothing in relation to the indirect secondary effect’s.

Some experts are blaming birth control for water contamination. Birth control pills, like batteries and baby bottles, have become the latest item to become a focus of environmental and health concerns. Scientists debate the effects of synthetic hormones that are flushed into waterways.

A group of scientists made headlines when they discovered that traces of synthetic estrogen in the state’s rivers had reduced the fertility of male fish. Hormonal birth control pills and patches were blamed. The patch and vaginal ring embed more hormones into the environment because they are discarded directly into the garbage after use. Another team of scientists found trout with both female and male characteristics. The culprit, again, was synthetic estrogen.

Numerous reports show that estrogenic chemicals in water can result in thyroid problems and an adrenaline imbalance. Thyroid inhibitors are of major concern because they affect the nervous system’s development and can cause permanent mental retardation. Water contamination studies have shown that fish are about 10 times more sensitive to the contribution of estrogen from birth control pills than they are to estradiol, the type of natural estrogen excreted by animals like cows.

First only women used the pill, but transported over the drinking water and the food men too started to take this hormones. A decrease in humans sperm counts is a result of hormones in drinking water.

After 50 years from extensive use of synthetic hormones in the pill for birth control the biological cycle of hormones got closed. Today we find synthetic estrogen everywhere in the food we eat and in all products produced by using contamined drinking water.

In the way how estrogen contamined drinking water and food converted in daily alimentation of women and men the opposite polarization of their different gender and mutual sexual attraction is going lost.

Artificial insemination procedure

The first ‘test tube’ baby Louise Brown was born on July 25 1978 in Britain. The first successful IVF treatment took place in 1981 and since then many thousands of babies have been born with the aid of this process. Artificial insemination process helps nature get a piggyback ride to start a pregnancy.

The process of artificial insemination may be started with a course of fertility medicines that the woman is given so as to stimulate production and maturity of eggs. Close monitoring is done to evaluate hormone levels and any other risk factors. The woman’s ovulation cycle is determined by noting the body temperature and vaginal discharge. Ultrasound is also used for determining the time of a woman’s ovulation. The artificial insemination process is done with sperms either from the woman’s partner or a donor. It is then injected into the woman’s cervix, uterus or fallopian tubes. It may be subject to a special treatment called ‘washing’ which makes it more concentrated for fertilization.

Artificial insemination is used for tackling infertility caused due to cervical mucus problems, low sperm count, inactive sperm or sperm antibodies.

The difference: Once, for to become pregnant women needed only one man – a man. But today, many women have the need of participation from two – a man AND a doctor!

Paradise as nightmare

Once humans lived in the garden of Eden, but expelled for ambitious they lost their paradise.

The big dream is to return again, ….

It is impossible to achieve any happiness,  if the other side of it is not known, which is the sadness or grief. – For to get happy first you had to become sad!

Happiness is only apparent, like an idea of perfection to which humanity aspires for to realize their destiny of life. But in exchange, for to pursue happiness we will loose many other goals beneficial to mankind because Happiness is the final destiny with no more choice for to select something different.  It must be eradicated our ability to think and to illustrate, to increase the options for art, history,  science, religious liberties, multicultural abilities, philosophy and in general all intellectual creativity. Everything must be reduced to simple emotional states which are easy and effective to control. But this inability to develop the intellect and the inability to show emotions such as sadness, worry or pleasure, make that actually happiness is an impossible illusion which is only possible loosing the option to choose and forgetting freedom.

Its nice to dream about paradise, but we only can try to establish happiness if we are surrounded by sadness!

From far away it looks like the paradise, until you arrive it will be different! Before you start to realize a dream you had to find a new dream, because the worst is living a life without a dream ….

It is the perpetually open eye and mouth.

The dictator, who may or may not be alive but whose poster picture looks down from almost every open space, is known as B. B., or Big Brother, and the political form is called Ingsoc, the Newspeak equivalent of English socialism.
